People wait for their rations in the Government's Food Corporation Depot in the District Headquarters in Gamgadhi. Few people get some, some too few and many not at all! This can be a central issue of food security debate in the region - who benefits from the airlifted food grain? Would it not be worthwhile to invest on productive activities rather than on food imports as most people do not get anything anyway?

Although subsitence is central focus of FO's program anywhere, it intends to focus on this issue in Karnali in the coming days of its engagement. Food Security Strategy is under discussion/composition and should be ready by the end of 2009.
